Woodland Park is known as "The City Above the Clouds" and it really does apply to the weather. It is cooler than Colorado Springs making the summers enjoyable and the winters are never horrible because the sun is always shining which melts the snow relatively quick. Adam loved building in Woodland Park because the weather was so desirable. There is an average of 250 days of sunshine.
Location:
Balance of the small town feel while only being 25 minutes from the Springs and less than 10 minutes to Pikes Peak National Forest. Rampart Reservoir is within 15 minutes of Stone Ridge Village which is a beautiful lake for people to enjoy the day with Pikes Peak as a backdrop.
Town Events:
The town is always having a community event. They include parades, farmer's market, 4th of July festival, etc. These are typically at Memorial Park right down the street from Stone Ridge. Everything the town has going is within walking distance to Stone Ridge.
Aquatic Center:
New building that has everything a family could need for a day at the pool or an older person looking for a place to exercise. There are areas for kids and a lap pool. They have classes that everyone is welcome to sign up for.
Schools:
All the schools are within a 10 minute drive from Stone Ridge. Woodland Park just launched a new Charter School named Merit Academy that has great test results and reviews.
Ski Mountains:
Breckenridge is less than 2 hours from Woodland Park for anyone who likes to ski.

Woodland Park has a hospital just west of town.

Woodland Park is a highly desired town for a lot of reasons mentioned above. The real estate market has proven to be successful in the town because everyone would like to live there. A lot of soldiers that spend their career at Fort Carson end up retiring in Woodland Park.

This is truly a brain dump. I apologize. I'll send anything that comes to mind. We are going to stay away from conversations about the builder, but she has been building in the community beginning in phase 1 if it ever comes up questioning the builder. She's done several homes, she just isn't pleasant to work with and doesn't have the best reputation. That's why we try to stay from builder-specific conversations.
